The Bible Baptist Church is a christian denomination that originated in the anabaptists churches that allegedly existed since the times of the apostles, intent on spreading their beliefs on a local and global scale. Some of this beliefs revolve around the scriptures, , god, the holy spirit, the devil, creation, the fall of man, the virgin birth, salvation, justification, repentance, atonement, and resurrection among others. In the ensuing paragraphs we are going to take a closer look at some of these views.
The Bible Baptist Church believe that the bible was written by supernaturally inspired men, moved by the holy spirit. Bible Baptists deem these writings to be absolutely truthful and infallible, being the only complete and final revelation of the will of god, the true center of Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human behavior, creeds and opinions should be tried. What they call the holy bible is comprised of sixty-six books, from Genesis to Revelation. The King James bible is the official word of god for English speakers.
The Bible Baptist fellowship also believes in one living and true God, an infinite, sentient entity, who made and rules the world; almighty and yet in need of honor, confidence and love. Despite stressing the fact that their god is only one, they also claim that it is made up of three different persons, namely the father, the son, and the holy ghost, equally perfect, who perform distinct but compatible duties, like so many branches of a civil government. The holy spirit is one of these divine individuals who took active in the creation and who restrains the evil one (the devil) until god's purpose is fulfilled. Some of its other tasks include convicting of sin, judgment and righteousness; bearing witness to the truth of the gospel in preaching and testimony; being an agent in the new birth; as well as sealing, enduing, guiding, teaching, sanctifying, and helping believers.
The devil on the other hand, was also divine once, but its pride and ambition to become god caused its downfall and the fall of a host of angels. It now holds the post and title of malignant prince of the power of the air and unholy god of this world. Among the accolades assigned to it by the Bible Baptist fellowship is being tempter of mankind, enemy of god and his christ, accuser of saints, author of all false religions (every other religion except theirs), chief power back of apostasy; lord of the Antichrist and author of all the powers of darkness. In spite of such an impressive resume, the devil is destined to be defeated at the hands of god's son, as per the aforementioned bible.
According to the Genesis account of creation, and that it is to be accepted literally, and not allegorically or figuratively; man was created directly in god's image and likeness. This version is held to be the literal truth as opposed to an allegory, therefore, Bible Baptists deny evolution and maintain that all animal and vegetable life was made directly by god in just a few days.
There is however, a new creation that happens when sinners die (a necessary step towards salvation) and are then born again, This new birth too is immediate and grants eternal life. The Bible Baptist fellowship claims that the new creation takes place in a manner beyond human comprehension, not by culture, character, or will, but entirely by the power of the holy spirit in connection with divine truth. This is very useful as it dispenses with the need of providing an actual explanation.
The Bible Baptist Church defines itself as a congregation of baptized believers linked by a covenant of faith and fellowship of the gospel. The church being understood to be the citadel and propagator of the divine and eternal Grace; following the decrees of christ and governed by his word. Its officers are pastors or elders whose qualifications, claims and duties are clearly stated by the bible. The mission of the church is to make individuals disciples, to build up the church and to teach and instruct as commanded by god. Bible Baptists also believe the church should be self-governing, free from the interference of any individual or organization; the exception being christ through the holy spirit.
Other than creation, Bible Baptists accept other events at face value, such as the resurrection of christ, the afterlife, the existence of heaven and hell. As their name implies, the bible is the be-all and end-all of their religion. Also obviously important is baptism, which they carry out through immersion, as opposed to infant baptism and sprinkling, as practiced by roman catholic and protestant churches.
